Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Colors: Which Shade Should You Choose?

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Colors: Which Shade Should You Choose?

What’s the best color option for a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL? Under normal circumstances, we’d respond to our own question with a “it depends on your preferences” answer, but Google has thrown a proverbial wrench into the mix and upset our typical approach. The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL has some eye-catching colors, but they don’t all have the same storage capacity.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is available in:

  • Moonstone

  • Jade

  • Porcelain

  • Obsidian

If pushed, we’d say the general consensus at the Ghostek offices is that the Moonstone finish is the best one. It’s not a unanimous agreement, though. But let’s explore this topic a little further, and consider how a comparatively unimportant issue like your preferred color can have a wider impact.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL’s Four Colors

Choosing the color for your Pixel 10 Pro XL is an easy way to make a big statement. It might sound a bit pretentious (and even a little silly), but small things like color choices can subtly convey aspects of your personality

Not convinced? Imagine sitting on a train, when a muscle-bound, tattooed man with a shaved head and a biker jacket sits down opposite you. You might feel intimidated and even consider moving seats, rather than remain in place and risk an awkward journey with a big, terrifying traveler.

Now imagine he gets a phone call, and pulls a vibrant pink smartphone out of his pocket.

See what we mean? Your perception of this - admittedly fictional - character won’t entirely change, but we imagine you’ll feel a little more comfortable knowing that he has no hesitation showing off a more feminine side in public.

Sadly, Google hasn't included pink as an option for the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. Our amiable biker friend will have to choose something different, but the following all say something about him too.

Moonstone

You might recall from the introduction that this was our favorite. It’s not overly flashy, but it quickly grew on us. Moonstone is a blue-tinged grey, and depending on the angle you hold it at, you can see hints of lavender in there too.

Moonstone is a very cool, and stylish shade. It conveys a certain laidback confidence and has a metallic, semi-futuristic vibe that we love.

Moonstone Google Pixel 10 Pro XL comes in the following storage options:

  • 128GB

  • 256GB

  • 512GB

Jade

The Jade version of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL isn’t quite as modern as the moonstone, but it is nonetheless quite charming. It’s another laidback shade, and arguably the most elegant in the collection. The way it interacts with the brass camera bar elevates this color, and it’s almost like the smartphone equivalent of relaxing by a lake in springtime.

However, there is a drawback to choosing a Jade Pixel 10 Pro XL. It's only available with 256GB storage.

Porcelain

We’ve seen the Porcelain variant of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL dismissed as “posh white,” but this seems a little unfair. Unlike standard white, this one has a warming undertone which gives it a classy vibe. It’s another understated but attractive finish.

But on the negative side, it tends to need cleaning more often. Porcelain shows dirt more readily than the rest of the Pixel 10 Pro XL family. It’s elegant and sophisticated, but requires a touch more effort to stay that way.

Porcelain Google Pixel 10 Pro XL smartphones are available with the following storage options:

  • 128GB

  • 256GB

  • 512GB

Obsidian

Regardless of how you feel about the colors, if you value storage over the finish, we recommend the Obsidian variant of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. You get the most flexibility with this one. You can choose from:

  • 128GB

  • 256GB

  • 512GB

  • 1TB

It’s the only one in the collection to reach the giddy heights of 1TB storage. Take a lot of photos and videos? Want to download a ridiculous amount of apps? This is the one to get.

It helps that Google’s Obsidian shade is really nice. It’s darker than the others and lends itself well to a confident vibe. Obsidian is the color to pick if you want a phone that feels like it traveled back in time from the future. As one of our copy editors put it, “it’s the Batmobile Pixel 10.”

Like the Porcelain though, it does show fingerprints a bit too easily.

The Features and Performance of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

The Pixel 10 Pro XL is a rare example of the color choice being more than a superficial decision. Your personal color preferences will naturally play a part, but if you value maximum storage capacity over the finish, choose the Obsidian. Yes, even if you prefer the Jade. Especially if you prefer the Jade.

Thankfully, that’s the only area that is affected in any significant way. All four colors come with the same levels of dust resistance, and they’re all equally resistant to fading. Your phone can sit in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time and retain its good looks.

The color choice also won’t impact any of the key features or performance of the Pixel 10 Pro XL (or its cousin, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold). For instance, if you pick Porcelain over Moonstone, it won’t decrease battery life or render certain features unusable. You’ll get the ultimate Pixel experience regardless of your chosen shade.

The Super Actua Display, Gemini Live, and Other Benefits of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

This leads us nicely into the broader array of features available with the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. We’ve talked at length about the other two sizes in the Pixel 10 series, and their impeccable design. Most of their benefits can be found in the XL variant, including:

  • A top-end display: the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL has a fantastic display screen. The Super Actua Display is renowned for its brightness and depth of color. It provides excellent outdoor visibility, and thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass (which can survive drops up to 1 meter on surfaces replicating concrete!), it’s resilient too.

  • Unprecedented AI: like the other Pixel 10 smartphones, the Pro XL is fitted with Google’s Gemini Live. This is powered by the Google Tensor G5 chip and provides users with round-the-clock interactive support.

  • A reliable battery: the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL comes equipped with a 5,200mAh battery. It provides power for heavy usage, so you can access YouTube Premium or Gemini Live without drastically affecting battery performance. It also supports wireless charging, while integrated battery health features allow you to monitor actual battery life in real time.

  • Advanced camera features: Google is leading the way when it comes to smartphone camera technology. The Pixel 10 Pro XL has an excellent camera system, with a high-quality lens supported by unprecedented AI features. There is unbelievable camera quality, photography enthusiasts will love this phone.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is easy to recommend. The New York Times called it one of the best Android phones of 2026, and we’re not going to disagree.

So, Which is the Best Google Pixel 10 Pro XL Color?

From our previous experience, we would say that it’s best not to think too hard when choosing a phone color. The general consensus at Ghostek is that Moonstone is the favorite, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s the best. As lifelong phone nerds, we’d suggest just going for what feels right and choosing the one that speaks to your personality the most.

However, in the case of the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, there is a caveat. Think about your storage requirements when choosing your preferred color. But not for too long; regardless of which color you prefer, you’re getting an awesome mobile phone.
